Outsiders ESSAYS in progress - due dates given

Homework/Classwork Assistance
Students have various times to work on assignments or receive help at school: sometimes during class, during morning resource (M/W/F 8:30-9:00am), or after school - if arranged with Ms. Barnes or Ms. Hagerty. We welcome UO student teacher Eric Renner.

Lit Unit: The Outsiders
Students have checked out a copy of The Outsiders from the school's collection and will be expected to read chapters that will be assigned daily. Throughout this unit there will be related activities, writing assignments and quizzes. Periods 3, 4, 5 and 6 are all studying this book, but Period 3 will cover some aspects differently with Mr. Renner.

Reading Schedule:
By Tue 2/28 - read Ch 11
By Tue 3/1 - read Ch 12 (end of book)

Assignments
Per 4, 5, 6:
-
"We'll Make the Rules" in-class activity
- Intro to three paragraph essay format (review samples and discuss directions on handout)
- Outsiders essay - written only in class - concluding Monday, March 7th

Per 3:

- Quiz on Tuesday, March 1st
- Outsiders journal due this week
- Outsiders final essay, typed or written in ink at home, due Monday, March 7th
- Outsiders study guide Tuesday, March 8th
