Social Class and "The Outsiders"

Students have various times to work on assignments or receive help at school: sometimes during class, during morning resource (M/W/F 8:30-9:00am), or after school - if arranged with Ms. Barnes or Ms. Hagerty. We welcome UO student teacher Eric Renner.

New Lit Unit: The Outsiders
Students will check out a copy of The Outsiders from the school's collection and will be expected to read chapters that will be assigned daily. Throughout this unit there will be related activities, writing assignments and quizzes. Periods 3, 4, 5 and 6 are all studying this book, but Period 3 will cover some aspects differently with Mr. Renner.

Per 4, 5, 6: "Blast from the Past"/review Outsiders chapters 1 and 2/quiz/working with grammar - conjunctions/continue reading Outsiders through chapter 6 by Tue., Feb. 22nd.
Per 3: Review Outsiders chapters 1 and 2/look at the book in many ways or perspectives (Pony, Cherry, self)/discuss social classes/continue reading Outsiders through chapter 6 by Tue., Feb. 22nd.
