Book Project
Book Project
Students need to continue reading their chosen books for the current book project (fantasy, mystery or sci-fi), and need to budget how many pages to read daily so that they finish on time. All information and guideline sheets will be provided: Day-to-Day Bookmark, Connection Paper, Book Jacket & Review Project. The Book Jacket will include specific information and reflect original artwork. The review should be 300 words. It should include information about characters, setting, action or events, conflict, language, narration and imagery. Get approval from the teacher before writing the final copy. All Monroe classes expect quality work - please focus on this.

Shelly Moon Workshop
The concluding performances for this special writing workshop will be on Thursday, January 12 during 3rd and 6th periods and all the eighth graders will have an opportunity see them.
Shelley Moon is a poet, playwright and proud instigator of social change. She is a seasoned performer who allows the creative arts to inspire shifts in social consciousness and spiritual evolution.
Shelley Moon helps people find their voice and how to use it. She supports participants in her workshops through the process of telling the stories they need to tell and letting go of the ones they no longer need.
