Students have various times to work on assignments or receive help at school: sometimes during class, during morning resource (M/W/F 8:30-9:00am), or after school - if arranged with Ms. Barnes. We welcome Ms. Wyatt as our UO student teacher for 4th period.
Reading
We read Flowers for Algernon last week and today we held a discussion about its topic, artificially enhanced human intelligence.
All of Ms. Barnes' students checked out a copy of A Soldier's Heart from the school library today. We had an introduction to the Civil War setting via "accessing prior knowledge," "building new knowledge," and a discussion of the intro to Chapter 1, the entirety of which is to be read by Wed., April 20th. We will be reading approximately one chapter per day.
Reading Schedule
Read foreword and Ch. 1 on Tuesday, April 19th
Read Ch. 2 on Wednesday, April 20th
Read Ch. 3 on Thursday, April 21st

Writing
We've started a draft of our 5-paragraph autobiographies. Most of the writing will be done in class, but if behind, you should continue writing at home. Skip lines, keep your copy in your binder, and bring to class everyday.
